Frank R. Parlato Jr. Born 1955, Buffalo NY. Philosopher, Yogi, teacher, developer, journalist, activist, writer, musician, investor, ethnographer, publicist and scholar. Considered one of the leading authorities in the world on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
His work is cited and has been published in prestigious journals and magazines around the world, including Encyclopedia.com, Vedanta Kesari and Hinduism Today. His research has lead to new discoveries on the life of Swami Vivekananda considered by millions as the spiritual father of modern India.
A self educated scholar, Parlato declined the potential advantages of a university education in favor of a self guided course of study. Dismissing the notion of the validity of permitting others to measure one's intelligence, he once remarked, "Any man who would submit to an IQ test is clearly of lower intellect. Lucid minds never submit to arbitrary testing created hap-hazardly from half digested stocks of nonsense-knowledge - the result of which is to place a number on intelligence. People say, 'My I.Q. is 150 or 160'. Nonsense. Man's intelligence is unlimited and it can grow day by day".
Parlato began his earning career as a traveling musician performing in night clubs along the eastern sea board. Later he shifted to real estate, first as an agent, later as an investor.
