Mr. Illuzzi, in one of his delightful "scorched earth" moments, wrote recently about this writer. Mr. Illuzzi wrote: "Frank, with the best of intentions, trying to be all things to all people, including Giambra & Pigeon concurrently, has failed miserably in his attempts to be Buddha. I think Parlato, Schmidbauer, Christy, Kern should start their own alternative, just call the alternative, 'toilet paper.'"
I merely wanted to respond to Mr. Illuzzi's suggestion by commenting that an alternative publication with the above mentioned journalists might be provocative. Only I do not believe I would have the time currently to participate. Thanks for the suggestion.
As for the opinion concerning Buddha, yes, I have failed miserably in my attempts to be Buddha, especially if you take into consideration the Buddha's own words, which were "The Buddha is not a man, but a state of consciousness."
In any event, while I do not currently have time to develop my own alternative newspaper, which I would not name "Toilet Paper," although, I can assure you, it would be a catchy title, I do have time to contribute occasionally to various publications - such as, or example, this distinguished publication, rising, as it has, from obscurity, in a few short years, to the main political insider's publication in WNY, and a source of news for literally thousands of people monthly. (I have seen the published stats from Choice One)
As for the further observation that I am "trying to be all things to all people, including Giambra and Pigeon concurrently." I respond that, who does not want to be all things to all people, if they could? The question is, who can do it? As for Mr. Pigeon and Mr. Giambra, specifically, it is quite clear that, until election day, they are on opposite sides of the fence. But, afterward, (perhaps, ultimately, depending on election results) there is no reason why they can't consider working amicably together for the good of the community. After all, their highest goals are much the same.
In Valhalla, after the daily battle, the warriors gather, all healed of their wounds, and eat roast boar together. Giambra is a man not quick to close doors. His innate nobility inclines him to try to say "yes," before he says "no." My impression of Steve Pigeon is that, in spite of his combative nature, and his strength, he is a soft man who cares about people and issues. If it were possible, Joel and Steve should get together and discuss issues of governance and general rules of fair play and mutual courtesy. That would be a good thing for Erie County.
And speaking of Joel, one of the claimants to the Erie County Chair and, more significantly, the undisputed State Vice Chairman of the Independence Party, Charles Flynn, speculated recently on an interesting ticket for governor that he says should be a winner: Rudy Gulliani and Joel Giambra. "If you take NY and Buffalo how can you lose?" Flynn asks.
And speaking of Flynn, he may have some input in who gets the IP nod statewide. It is rumored that he is now the front runner for the state chair currently occupied by his ally Frank McKay. (McKay is said to be leaning toward Pataki in next year's gubernatorial) If Flynn moves up, this would leave an opening for the Erie County IP chair, where, currently, two men, Flynn and Concord Restauranteur Anthony Orsini, have been battling for about a year and through eight different law suits to have sole title. If Flynn moves up, a good compromise candidate for county chair, in my opinion, might be attorney Peter Fiorella (*), a man savvy enough to bring the warring factions together, and promote democratic ideals. It would be good for the IP party - strengthen it immensely- and good for the county to have a strong third party.
In any event, Joe, thanks for the opportunity to respond. One day, perhaps, healed of our wounds, and our animus, we'll all dine together on roast boar; in Valhalla, Joe, or, perhaps, maybe sooner.

Parlato should start newspaper called "toilet paper"
The above was in reponse to Illuzzi's (below) article of October 25, 2001
Proverbs 3: "The wise inherit honor fools he holds up to shame" Of course as the IlluzziLetter.com continues to grow 10-15% per month, I continue to see my name in these so called alternatives as a result. Now, I certainly would not mind but the libel/slander get just silly at times.
Fortunately, no one that I know reads the local communist manifesto, Joe Schimbauer's publication. The only reason this alternative is still in business is Schimdbauer allegedly stole equipment bought by dismissed assistant editor Bill Logal. I am told Logal won a lawsuit to get his money back. Schimdbauer is the local biblical Cain of the alternative set. A sleazy, dirty, caricature, of a person that looks with venom on anyone else's success.
Then you have Tom Christy, whom publishes Kern, one would have thought was a little to bright to get involved in this kind of thing but Christy's word is worthless. Christy having no readership to speak of resorted to the dark side publishing Dick Kern, Christy having emotional issues. I have found this former Olma employee has about as much credibility as Kern. Basically a liar, who as an alternative to his failures, plans to sell his site to his non profit to put money in his pockets. Christy is a Shakespearean tragedy behind a computer.
Kern, a Schimdbauer creation, of course is just an absolute fool. The continual flow of libel is just to the point of being the town joke. DA Clark has attempted to prosecute Kern with no success as of yet. Kern tells his readers I did time for a youthful offender offense, I was placed on probation. Kern says I owe $50,000 in support. I have supported my child lavishly since the day she was born. I am fully involved in her life school, health, etc., & always have been. There has not been an open support case for almost two years. The number is $14,000 plus interest which I do not owe & will not pay. I am obligated to $10 a week so that should tell you something. Yes, I am on $25,000 bail for a misdemeanor for criminal non payment of support in 1999. I am the only person in the history of Erie county to face this Giambra charge, you get the point. Of course I am not guilty; I certainly will be exonerated, the charge is malicious. Let me make this clear: Kern makes this stuff up as he goes along to attract attention to himself. I have not talk to Kern in over a year. I delete all of his emails. There is no quid pro quo between myself & Kern. He will be prosecuted for publishing my Soc Sec number & that of my daughter's deceased mother. The thing that tells the tale about Christy & Kern they continue to publish my daughters mom died on Mother's Day when in fact she died on May 10, 1999 a Tuesday, 50 miles away, under extremely tragic circumstances. Kern refers to a judgement against me by the News. I bought ads for years, no problem. I buy a $2,000 ad the News publishes the address Illuzzi.com, some family in New Jersey. Obviously, the ad was worthless, so unlike anyone else in its history, Stan Lipsey aka Buffalo News has me sued within a year for the $2,000. I didn't think Stan would follow thru but he did, nice gambit; so I have a judgement. The News did print the right address a week later. We all know that gesture is meaningless in this business.
The biggest joke of course is Real Amherst. These guys only publish five days a week. 75% of what they publish comes from copying other sources. The most egregious thing about this site is these guys claimed 400,000 unique visits per month. Four times the population of Amherst. They went to advertisers & sold advertising based on these numbers. Sources: They do not do 4,000 TOTAL visits a month. They get maybe 10 responses to their message boards a week. The fact is they can be prosecuted for what they have done in selling ads based on these numbers is a crime.
Who do I have to thank for all of this with exception of the Amherst boys they contacted me, featuring my stuff on a number of occassions. IP Tonawanda Chair. Frank Parlato is the guy who I have to thank for Schmidbauer, Christy, & Kern. Frank with the best of intentions trying to be all things to all people including, Giambra & Pigeon concurrently, has failed miserably in his attempts to be Budda. I think Parlato, Schimbauer, Christy, Kern should start there own alternative, just call the alternative, toilet paper.
